Independent Investigation Service for Healthcare Providers
Following the evidence – Conducting investigations
CIRI provides healthcare organisations expertise and independent support by investigating performance concerns, complaints and grievances relating to the conduct or capability of individuals or teams.
When allegations arise, such as incivility, sexual misconduct or breaches of probity, or where an individual’s capability to perform their role is called into question, a robust investigation grounded in specialist knowledge and a commitment to fair, evidence based processes is essential.
Our lead investigator has extensive expertise in conducting a wide range of investigations, including NHS workplace investigations. Her methodology is informed by years of experience in operational, national policy and advisory roles across the NHS and wider healthcare system.
As a senior adviser for the Practitioner Performance Advice Service (formerly the National Clinical Assessment Service) until 2022 she provided strategic guidance identifying and managing performance concerns including case management, case investigation, drafting effective Terms of Reference across the NHS and independent sector.
She continues to work in a strategic and policy role for NHS England, ensuring that her knowledge of Maintaining High Professional Standards (MHPS), HR policy, and the Responsible Officer and Performers Lists Regulations remains current and deeply informed by the evolving landscape of professional standards, regulations and policy.
